Join Stefan Milne in this class, where he’ll explore some of the history and tradition of Greek cooking while demystify cooking with open flame — burning things is okay! On the menu: whole grilled rockfish wrapped in grape leaves and stuffed with rice, pine nuts, raisins, and herbs; grilled pita with melitzanosalata (grilled eggplant spread);
taramasalata (bread and fish roe dip); and kathoura (fresh goat cheese from Icaria) with grilled stone fruit, tomatoes, almonds, herbs, and honey.
Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs.
Here at the Pantry, we call ourselves a community kitchen. For us, that means we do many things: cooking classes focusing on traditional food crafts and technique, five-course family-style dinners, culinary camp for the kids, power lunches for makers, food swaps, and cookbook club potluck suppers.
Basically anything we can think of to get our neighbors around the table, breaking bread and building community.
Come learn the basics of Greek cooking. We will be making such favorites as slovaki, spinach pies, tiropita, mousaka, branzini, pita bread, tzatziki sauce, dolmas, avalmongo soup, and pastitsio
In our Greek Favorites Cooking Workshop our Chef will walk you through the recipes and techniques needed to prepare some of your favorite menu items! Recipes include Avgolemono Soup, Handmade Pan Pitas, Chicken Souvlaki, Tzatziki and Feta, and for dessert Baklava.
Greek cooking class is offered by The Kitchen Nashville. All class registration fees are non-refundable. We encourage you to send someone in your place if you cannot attend a class.
In this class, we'll combine fresh ingredients in the healthiest possible way to recreate traditional dishes but totally guilt-free! This class can be vegetarian upon prior request!
A taste of the mediterranean in this fun class! We will make the menu together and enjoy the fruits of our labor! On the menu: spanakopita, leg of lamb with lemon roasted potatoes , herb roasted eggplant with feta and tomatoes, baklava.
