During the class, you will learn how to make the Japanese restaurant recipe of special blended umami soy sauce 'nikiri' and learn how to make the perfect sushi rice. An experienced instructor will take you through the journey of gourmet sushi rolls using the top quality ingredients, for your first sushi roll you will make your own crispy and succulent tempura prawns to use in the first sushi rolls.
The raw fish used in the class is a professional quality sourced from Japanese fishmongers and reputable local fishmongers with sustainable fish. You will learn where to buy the fish online and offline and how to store them.
The instructor will fillet the whole seabream for the class, and you will learn how to slice your own for your first nigiri sushi.

This beginners sushi class features a mix of both unusual and more familiar ingredients with lots of tips and tricks from an experienced sushi chef.
Firstly, our chef will show everyone the techniques of preparing and cooking your own Sumeshi sushi rice. Then the class will be shown how to prepare a range of different sushi, beginning by making your very own cured Salmon and Cucumber Nori Maki roll, accompanied with Japanese Miso Noodle Soup.
We will tell you how to source the right ingredients for your sushi making journey, including rice and fish, as well as context behind the food and how to eat sushi the traditional way.
