We started Schola as a place where people could come together, put on an apron and learn about where food comes from and how to cook it. All of our classes are designed to intrigue the beginner as well as the seasoned veteran in the kitchen. The classes are a hands-on experience and usually last between two and three hours.
Schola is BYOB and we encourage our students to bring a bottle of something to enjoy while they cook and eat together. We’ll always have plenty of stemware on hand!
You can choose the protein: Chicken, Pork or Tofu, to cook up healthier than restaurants make. You can also choose your veggies, such as carrots, onions, celery, peppers, snow peas, mushrooms, pineapple and more. We'll make a simple but delicious sweet and sour sauce (from scratch!).
Learn how to introduce solids to babies, incorporate flavors and textures for a well-rounded palate and understand the nutritional needs of our young eaters.
Adding crab to any dish will make it new, light, and inviting. Allow our chefs to guide you though more surf, then turf with Crab Rangoon with Sweet Thai chili sauce (Real lump crab, cream cheese, green onions, all perfectly fried in a wonton wrapper served with home made sweet Thai chili sauce)
You will be taught everything you need to know about spices (masalas), which is the basis of Indian cooking that will come handy when we begin to cook. Spices bring out the flavor in each dish; therefore, I always like my students to learn and become spice experts.
Bring on the meat! While we’re not grilling over wood embers, this classic Argentinian-inspired menu will impress any gaucho. If you have vegetarians in your group, please let us know in advance, and we can prepare a seared portobello mushroom with chimichurri as an alternate.
