Your teen will learn the basics of knife skills, cooking and baking techniques, and organizing prep work making them more confident cooks in the kitchen.
We have been teaching people in Chicago how to cook for over 24 years. The Chopping Block is a recreational cooking school that combines education and entertainment, as our staff provides each guest “The Chopping Block Experience.”
From the greeting you receive when you walk in our stores, to the music you hear, to the tools and equipment you use, to the menu you create, to the plate you eat on, to the products you shop for, we strive to provide the ultimate experience for our customers.
We also offer children’s classes to teach the youngest bakers the basics. It’s a fun way to introduce them to baking and design techniques.
Each session has a general theme and as in any of our classes each student brings home all of their creations to share!
In this DIY kids class, they will be provided with 4 cookies, royal icing, and sprinkles to decorate any way they would like. This is not an instructor lead class, this is DIY style class. Each set of 4 cookies may vary from student to student.
This is a great class for kids! Students work with delicious chocolate and pour several types to make a large, round pizza shape. They top the pizza with their favorite  candies and cookie pieces (nuts are optional). Each student takes home a large pizza-shaped confection.Â
National Homemade Soup Day is in February, and we are making deliciously creamy homemade tomato soup with perfectly grilled cheese! We’ll end the perfect winter meal with oven-baked s’mores.
