Established in 2021 with its headquarters in Singapore, the institute’s objectives are to: establish coffee quality and standards for the ASEAN region reaching out to the world, provide affordable coffee education to all, promote sustainability practices to the coffee farmer, as well as to encourage sustainable sourcing by traders, roasters and cafe owners.
Lighthouse Coffee, we roast coffee and we educate about coffee. We wish to inspire & influence humanity lifestyle therefore Lighthouse was established in 2007 as the first barista training workshop in Malaysia.
Today, with our humble facilities in Lighthouse Coffee Academy, where we work with international associations such as SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) and ACF (ASEAN Coffee Federations) to provide world-renowned courses. Lighthouse Coffee Academy also provides customizable workshops such as Corporate Team Building or Latte Art and Roasting Workshops.
In the year 2010, we are also proud as organizers of a grassroots barista competition held locally here in the Penang island. BOBC (Battle of Baristas Championship), the competition is a platform and stepping stone for local baristas to progress and ready themselves to the national championship. We always wish to inspire barista to think beyond the boundaries and be more creative in the coffee industry.

This course is designed for those who are truly passionate about great coffee and eagerly want to understand Barista skills. During the Barista Course, the participants will have great fun brewing different methods and tasting different coffees.
Basic Coffee Barista Class course is offered by Pastry Art and Culinary.
This is a course that gives basic understanding about the profession of barista and skills involving in preparing exquisite coffee beverage. The participants will experience the hands-on step by step process of selection roasted coffee beans, weighing, grinding and brewing it to perfect consistency
By the end of this lesson you will be able to make espresso according to the international espresso standard, maintain clean equipment, steam milk and create the 5 main beverages from the café menu according to their international standard.
