Established in 2021 with its headquarters in Singapore, the institute’s objectives are to: establish coffee quality and standards for the ASEAN region reaching out to the world, provide affordable coffee education to all, promote sustainability practices to the coffee farmer, as well as to encourage sustainable sourcing by traders, roasters and cafe owners.
Lighthouse Coffee, we roast coffee and we educate about coffee. We wish to inspire & influence humanity lifestyle therefore Lighthouse was established in 2007 as the first barista training workshop in Malaysia.
Today, with our humble facilities in Lighthouse Coffee Academy, where we work with international associations such as SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) and ACF (ASEAN Coffee Federations) to provide world-renowned courses. Lighthouse Coffee Academy also provides customizable workshops such as Corporate Team Building or Latte Art and Roasting Workshops.
In the year 2010, we are also proud as organizers of a grassroots barista competition held locally here in the Penang island. BOBC (Battle of Baristas Championship), the competition is a platform and stepping stone for local baristas to progress and ready themselves to the national championship. We always wish to inspire barista to think beyond the boundaries and be more creative in the coffee industry.
As a solutions company, Lighthouse Coffee also distributes a number of brands here in Penang such as El Rocio espresso machine from Korea, Nouva Simonelli, Victoria Arduino, TimeMore, Reg Barber Tampers, Chemex maker and more.

SCA’s purpose is to faster global coffee communities to support activities to make coffee a more sustainable, equitable, and thriving activity for the whole value chain.
Our first ever brewing class, led by Andrea, guides you in a hands-on brewing class through the fundamentals of filter coffee using the CT62 as the medium.
The course is designed to be hands on to ensure our Participants will be confident using the skills they pick up.
This hands-on course is designed for both aspiring baristas and coffee enthusiasts looking to elevate their coffee-making skills to the next level.
