Demonstrate knowledge of commercial espresso coffee equipment and prepare espresso beverages. A level 2 pre-entry unit standard (17285) designed to assist you learn how to make popular drinks with espresso equipment.
You will learn everything from the art of brewing the prefect trim latte to how to create soy flat whites, marshmallow-laden foamy mochachinos and everything in between.
Knowledge of coffee terms for industry, popular espresso drinks how to operate the equipment, aerate and heat milk correctly and understand milk types, texturing characteristics, and being able to correctly select, use and present cups and glassware.

Small class sizes with a maximum of 12 students per intake allowing students to have lots of hands-on experience. Students will finish the course with machine knowledge, sensory demonstrations and introduction into bean knowledge and basic coffee roasting.
