In this course you will obtain knowledge of Latte Art along with how to make a range of coffee beverages and understand how to extract coffee to make the perfect cup.
Knowing how to make good coffee is a foot-in-the-door to most holiday jobs now. This course covers the origins of coffee and how it is processed, along with the types of coffee and what affects their flavour when made in cafes.
Cafes, bars, restaurants, and hotels are always keen to employ skilled baristas that can provide excellent coffee beverages and service for their customers.
Learn about the history of coffee, how to operate and maintain espresso machines, get hands-on practical training for all coffee styles and an introduction to customer service skills. Students must be 16 years or older.
This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizen and permanent migrant adults, and young people aged 16+ who are not currently enrolled in a NZ secondary school.
