The Academy’s Body Conditioning classes help dancers gain an enhanced understanding of their bodies, and learn how to strengthen their dance technique. Through carefully constructed exercises, dancers learn how to complement their dance training and prevent injury.

The Richmond Academy is a member of the BC Dance Educator’s Association, Richmond Chamber of Commerce, West Coast Tap Dance Collective, BC Alliance for Arts and Culture, Richmond Arts Council, Canadian Dance Assembly, BC Artist Registry, Candance.org and has teachers who have obtained Registered Teacher Status with various international organizations including the Royal Academy of Dance.
In turns, students will focus on proper body alignment and control learning how to make a single turn into a series of turns.
This program is geared towards both children and young adults of all movement abilities. Industry Movers will focus on the positive reinforcement of rhythm and therapeutic movement for clients at all levels of development and physical abilities.
Jumps & Turns is a great way to continue a student’s training. This class focuses on jumping and turning technique, and will introduce new ‘tricks’ to the students.Â
The exercises work on muscle elongation and aim to strengthen postural muscles, as well as stabilizers.Â
