This five day intensive cooking course is perfect for teenagers wanting to gain kitchen confidence during the summer holidays or for those who want to learn to cook before university or heading off on a Gap Year.
Our teen cooking camp is an intensive teenager cooking course during the half-term or summer holidays.
We will take your teen from baked beans to brilliance in just five days, teaching them the essentials of cooking. They’ll finish the week with many varied, easy and enjoyable recipes that can be enjoyed every night of the week.
Each day, they will arrive to a Cookery School breakfast of freshly baked morning goods and hot chocolate, tea or coffee. At lunchtime, they will sit around the Cookery School table to enjoy tasting the dishes they have made. Every afternoon, there will be food-related activities and challenges.
This teenager cooking workshop aims to leave students confident that they can cook well for themselves and replicate the dishes they have learnt in their home kitchen.
Cookery School’s aim is to take people back to honest, homely, delicious cooking. There is nothing cheffy or fancy about the food – it is simply delicious home-made food, using common utensils that can be found in most home kitchens.
The focus is on demystifying cooking techniques, removing jargon and bringing back solid cooking skills, using high quality, primarily organic, sustainable ingredients.
At Cookery School it has always been about the food. It is not about using famous chefs but rather using the best teachers who understand the Cookery School way of teaching and make learning how to cook good food with confidence as accessible as possible.
Even prior to the inception of Cookery School, the school’s founder, Rosalind, has been fervently passionate about sustainability. Cookery School has the highest possible rating for sustainability from the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) and has been virtually plastic-free since the beginning.
Sustainability is not just a buzzword but runs through the veins of the school, from sourcing top quality, seasonal, mostly organic ingredients, to running the kitchens on renewable energy, the school does everything possible to minimise its impact on the planet.

This class will be fun, engaging, and informative. Our Chefs will be aiming to create a memorable experience for all involved but to also encourage or heighten a love for baking within the kids involved.
We provide all equipment, including aprons here at the Hobbs House Bakery Cookery School, so all you need on the day is yourselves and a passion for baking.
