In this program, you’ll learn how to prepare and cook a wide variety of different dishes, each day, focusing on an entirely different cuisine. Our expert chef will guide our guests (10 years+) to prepare various menus over the duration of this course. We’ll learn about knife skills, food safety, how to prepare and cook vegetables, meats, and seafood and mains.
The course focuses on understanding food through local ingredients and a global perspective. Participants learn about the seasonality and origin of common foods. We will also explore contemporary issues relating to food justice, food wastage, and sustainability. Students will learn how to make healthy food choices as well as learn how to make a budget. Students may participate in a single class or the full 4 day-workshop throughout the duration of the week.
Otao Kitchen aims to increase the accessibility of healthy food options with hands on cooking. Our cooking classes offer you an intelligent, thoughtful and authentic cooking experience - that is fun, adventurous and suitable for people of all ages, teams, work party, backgrounds or levels of cooking skills. The skills you will learn are fully transferable to your own kitchen and we look forward to hearing and seeing what you create at home after the classes.
Learn to make amazing dishes from scratch using the freshest ingredients. You’ll have fun, eat fresh and stay healthy. Focusing on senses with hands on cooking classes and live food events.
A two hour, fun-filled cooking class just right for 7-11 year olds. Each child goes home with the Christmas themed treats that they made themselves. Children learn to use a  variety of kitchen skills and equipment as well as deciphering recipes.
Chocolate workshop for kids - a chocolate experience with games, chocolate making and of course, tasting!
We offer a fun and varied program for each school holiday period designed to keep children of all ages entertained and interested in food.
Our program has been met with a lot of enthusiasm by the students parents and school staff.
