All cooking students are registered as cook apprentices with Skilled Trades BC. Upon successful completion of the program, eligible students can write both the Professional Cook One and Two Certificate of Qualification exams.
Cook Basic is an intensive 300-hour training program focused on the theory and practice of cooking. Our program was designed with the help of professional chefs to prepare you to work in the hospitality industry.
Receive valuable in-school training while you work in a paid culinary position. The culinary industry is growing and there is a shortage of professionally-trained cooks and chefs. The apprenticeship program will work well for students who have secured employment in the culinary industry.
During the class, you'll learn the secrets behind making Gorditas and Arepas from scratch, from selecting the finest ingredients to mastering the techniques that result in their distinct textures and flavors.
