The Shelbourne Community Kitchen, also referred to as ‘the Kitchen’, is a collaborative effort of three Shelbourne Valley churches—St. Luke’s Anglican, St. Aidan’s United, and Lutheran Church of the Cross—and two Community Associations, Mount Tolmie Community Association and Camosun Community Association. Our focus is to provide healthy food to those who need it in a supportive community setting.

In this fun, hands-on class Chef Avery Billy will walk you through all the steps to make both these tropical treats, from making the dough and fillings, to shaping and baking the pies
Learn the simple techniques necessary to create light French pastry by hand. Understand how to turn and laminate the dough. With a selection of sweet and savory fillings you will impress family and friends with freshly made quality treats
In order to satisfy customers, you will make a variety of products, such as desserts with creams and fillings, desserts, petits fours, cakes and fine or commercial pastries, taking into account the specificities of the appropriate preparation and cooking processes
You’ll be amazed at how easy this gorgeous french dessert is, and how incredibly impressive it looks. You’ll be making absolutely everything from scratch, and the chef will answer any questions you have along the way.
We serve still or sparkling water at classes. If you would like to drink anything else, please feel free to bring it along. We are happy to provide glasses for you.
