Italian cooking is renowned for it’s use of fresh, high quality ingredients cooked simply but well. Our Italian class will transport you to the heart of Italy where we will take you step by step through a range of classic favourites prepared with authenticity.

You will learn how to make fresh pasta from scratch and cook it to perfection, accompanied by a rich tomato sauce. Master the art of creating flawless risotto, where the skill to perfection is in the  hints and tips to getting stock technique right.  You will then use the leftovers (if there are any!), to make the new hot favourite Italian street food – delicious arancini.

We’ll start by exploring all the specific fresh herbs used in Italian cuisine why they are used as well as the significance of seasonal ingredients to create authentic Italian cuisine. You’ll then be making an array of dishes which will embrace the joys of cooking with garlic, fantastic olive oil, fresh buffalo cheese and cured meats.  You’ll also make your own pizza dough and pizza from scratch the authentic way.

This class is entirely hands-on, so you will be rolling up your sleeves and will make your own pasta and your own dishes throughout the day, no rest for the wicked.  You’ll also have plenty to take home and share with friends and family and show off your new found culinary skill.

The Italian itinerary continues when we break for lunch. Considered to be the most important meal of the day you will be able to experience more of “The Boot’s” famous exports- fine wines and cold crisp beers in convivial company.

Get ready to learn to cook the true flavours of Italy- mangia tutti! Pronto!

You’ll learn to create a range of dishes such as: homemade pasta, sauce pizzaiola, risotto, arancini and not forgetting pizza! Alternative recipes will be included for any dietary needs.

Our Italian classes are suitable for vegetarians, vegans and those with gluten intolerance.

If you would like to speak in detail about your needs, please get in touch.

Pasta and Sugo Workshop

Of course, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with opening a bag of dried pasta – I do it every week – but I’d love you to try making your own. It’s fun, therapeutic and an amazing way to level-up a special meal – you don’t even need any special equipment!

Pizza & Ciabatta Making Day

I believe that hands-on cooking classes are the best way to learn new skills in the kitchen. I know how much the British public love watching cookery programmes and reading food magazines but I’m also aware that many are daunted at the prospect of having a go themselves
