Everything you ever need to know about choosing, storing, sharpening, holding, and using the most important tool in the kitchen. We will have 8-inch chef's knives for you to practice on, but you are also welcome to bring your own knife.Â
Basic knife skills are important, whether a veteran cook or a beginner, everyone can use some basic training with kitchen knives. Class includes demonstration by one of our chef instructors, Andrew Schmidt, followed by practical skills of various cuts of fruits and vegetables, herbs and garlic.
In this class, you will learn not only how to hold, hone, and sharpen your knives, but also how to Brunoise, Chiffonade, Batonnet, Supreme, Debone, etc. with proper technique. Â We will provide all the fruit, vegetable, and chicken needed for you to practice.
