Stress Busters
Do you suffer from too much stress? Are you trying to manage the impact of stressed staff? Are your sickness absence levels high and performance lower than you’d like it to be? Would you like to reduce your own stress levels and learn how to do this for the staff you manage? Then this is the workshop for you.
In our personal lives and at work the world is feeling like a very stressful place but we don’t have to accept this. Employers are also starting to recognise the importance of helping staff to manage stress as a way to reduce absenteeism, improve performance and ultimately enhance profitability.
At the end of this workshop you will:
understand the difference between good stress and bad stress
be able to identify the common triggers for yourself and others
be able to spot when someone is becoming too stressed
take effective action for managing your own stress
be able to actively support those you manage in dealing with stress

About me
I am a coach, trainer, open water swimmer, mum of two and coffee lover! I've experienced a fair few major life events, including the death of my father as a child leading to a susceptibility towards depression, a miscarriage, breast cancer and alcoholism (sober since 2005), and a lot of family grief.
These have made me feel battered many times, but through the other side they have also made me grow and develop and realise I actually have a positive outlook on life. This has all made me eager to support others through their own adversity (adversity is a relative term).
I am passionate about my own personal development and through life experiences and formal learning I have a wealth of experiences and knowledge to draw upon. We are all works in progress until the day we die and this is what motivates me to support you.
I absolutely love learning, and part of my joy of teaching comes from what I learn while preparing for teaching and from those I teach. I use my coaching style and curiosity in training to create an environment to help those I train get the most from the training.
Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by external pressures or changes? If so, this course will help you develop strategies to help you feel more in control. The workshop offers you practical, evidence-based techniques to understand and manage your responses to stress.

Stress is recognised as a condition that can affect all types of people, in all kinds of jobs, and from all social backgrounds. It is also recognised as a major contributor to behavioural change, psychological dysfunction, and serious health problems.
As with all consultations at the HPC, we start by having a chat to find out exactly what is the unwanted behaviour or emotion, the chains of thoughts, the triggers, when it happens where it happens and so on. Once we understand the structure of the experience, we can change it.
