This class is all hands on deck! At the end of the class, you will have the opportunity to sample the food you helped prepare, and if you bring a food storage container you will have the option to take some home if any is leftover.
Established in 1972, Moore Norman Technology Center, School District No. 17 is viewed as one of the nation's premier educational and training institutions. MNTC is one of 29 technology centers within Oklahoma's globally-recognized CareerTech System.
MNTC offers hundreds of short-term classes you can complete in 600 hours or less. These classes do not require an application, but some may require prerequisites.
In this Japanese cuisine class, you will learn all the important steps that are required to prepare sushi; including: preparing sushi rice and more.
Together we'll make kushiyaki (grilled vegetable skewers), onigiri (rice balls), and tsukemono (pickled cucumber salad) teaching you a variety of techniques and flavors used in Japanese home cooking. You'll get the chance to build your own skewer, shape and fill a perfect rice ball.
Sushi making is a fun, creative, interactive experience where the combinations and possibilities are endless.
