Leila Yacoub Piazza is a first generation Syrian-American who has been cooking for family and friends all her life. She spent a month in Syria visiting her brother and sister in August 2018; her first trip home since the Syrian war broke out in 2011. She was happy to see life returning to normal as the fighting has stopped, and is hopeful that a lasting peace will emerge.
Pilafs Cooking class is offered by Thrive Chef Works. Chef Nick’s cooking classes and food talks have been held in school classrooms, farmer’s markets, businesses, food co-ops, Kitchen Window and in private homes.
Under the direction of Chef Jennifer, participants prepare and enjoy a three-course lunch using ingredients sourced from Pike Place Market.

Flavors Of The Middle East cooking class is offered by The Kitchen Nashville. All class registration fees are non-refundable. We encourage you to send someone in your place if you cannot attend a class.
