French cuisine is a great place to start for any cook or chef, with many traditional dishes based on classic techniques and flavour combinations. This class will introduce you to some of these as you get hands-on with our chefs in the kitchen practising the perfect soufflé or rustic cassoulet.
With our Taste of… classes we want to get you excited about some of the amazing food that’s being cooked all around the world. There’s so much to learn and discover when it comes to regional cuisines, from new flavors to age-old traditions, this is just the starting point for many more kitchen adventures to come.
Join us for the day and have a go at mastering some French classics. Our chefs will help you learn the secrets to balancing rich flavors in a soup or cassoulet, as well as the impressive baking skills needed to get a towering soufflé or picture-perfect tart.
You’ll be working with some delicious French produce (cheese of course!) and end up with recipes and skills you can keep cooking at home.

In this class we will look at some traditional French classics and recreate some well-loved, sometimes forgotten favourites. When we talk about the French classics, this can often mean two different things.
Learn how to make the robust signature dishes made famous by the cuisine capital of the world. To begin our celebration of the home of cooking, we start with a beautifully caramelised Soupe à l’oignon (French Onion soup).
