These are professional-level dance classes. However, don’t be intimidated by that professional word, come along and see what they are about.
Wellesley Studios has been established to support ongoing development in the New Zealand dance industry. We aim to provide a space which is inclusive and supportive.
Wellesley Studios provides a professional working environment conducive to creativity and learning.
Three purpose-built, well equipped, fully accessible studios are available for residencies, classes and workshops, rehearsals and showings of new works in development.
“My aim is that these studios will make a real difference for the NZ performing arts sector, that Wellesley Studio will become a hub where artists continue their training and come to connect collaborate, research and create in a dedicated and supportive environment”.
This is a class with a basis in pilates, yoga and functional movement aimed at those who want to strengthen and tone while working on core strength, functional movement, endurance and balance.
This class is for those who are interested in learning the elusive art of hand-balancing from scratch as well as improving the current condition of your practice. Each week we will dive into the theories, anatomy, warm-ups, core work, mobility, and handstand practice.
An open jazz technique class, using dance specific conditioning exercises with a focus on battements, turns and leaps.
Our Barre classes cater to any fitness level and ability. We can modify any workout to suit you and where your body is at. We help you to achieve your goals and we are here to support you any way we can.
