The Inspiration Behind ‘Wild Thyme Kitchen’

  • Although the creation of Wild Thyme Kitchen was inspired by many extraordinary women, it honors two women in particular who have always believed in me and in my dreams from the start: my sassy Cuban mom, Cary, and my Italian mother-in-law, Nina.
  • I will never take for granted the lessons they have taught me, and the sacrifices they have made, as I am truly lucky to have had them in my life. Mom, Cary, thank you for never giving up on me, I hope that I will continue to make you proud.
  • My sassy Cuban mom, who made all of our family’s favorites with Sazon, taught me how to cook like her and how to host the most extravagant parties.
  • My Italian mother-in-law, whose kitchen Always had something mouth-watering simmering away on the stovetop, and had the most contagious laugh, taught this Cuban girl through love and patience how to craft her delicious family recipes, which was a feat all on its own. 
  • Even today I can still hear her laughter from the first time I attempted to make her delicious S.U.G.O (red sauce). To say the least, it did not come out anywhere as amazing as hers.
