As a cooking school Putia runs a variety of informative, fun and hands-on, demonstration and workshop classes with a focus on world cuisines as well as including specific classes on gluten free, vegetarian and health driven topics focused on healthy lifestyles, vitality and inspiration in the kitchen, garden and beyond. Putia classes are suitable for anyone at any age from the humble beginner to more experienced cooks.
We are open for breakfast and lunch from Wednesday to Sunday. Our evenings are available for private dinners, events, workshops, corporate team building classes, tasting events and demonstrations. Putia is also available for hire for functions, weddings and birthdays and has a warm inviting space to hire for filming, photo shoots and food styling.

Vegan Cooking class is offered by The Bhakti Tree. Our various activities make up the branches of the Bhakti Tree – pure vegetarian and vegan food at our café in Mayfield or at the University of Newcastle through the student vegetarian club.
It’s often the main course where vegetarians miss out the most. This session offers much more than the usual vegetarian pastas and soy burgers. We will focus on some delectable vegetarian recipes that can challenge the fanciest meat dishes.
Vegan Cooking is offered by SEEDS Newcastle. We offer evidence-based programs, a variety of practical workshops and health clubs to support individuals and organisations journey towards optimal health.

In this 9-week class, we will teach you how to cook a selection of tasty and healthy vegetarian (6 weeks) and vegan (3 weeks) food including a selection of soups, first courses, main courses, sides dishes, and many desserts in vegetarian or vegan styles.
