This course runs for 2 years and covers all aspects of classical food preparation; cooking methods; kitchen management, restaurant service; patisserie; wine appreciation and the culinary arts in greater details.
Silwood, in partnership with The Hussar Grill & Nederburg, hosts a series of Steak Master Classes that cover the preparation of three choice cuts of beef, how to wet-age meat at home and provide tips on stovetop grilling.
Soweto Chef’s Academy (Pty) Ltd. national certificate and skills program are the proven path to an exciting career in the amazing world of food.
This part time certificate programme is aimed at those who are currently working as a prep cook or sculler in a restaurant or hotel, and wishes to obtain a recognised qualification as an assistant chef / junior chef in the kitchen while they are employed.
Professional Skills Programmes are different from the Management Programmes in that they are specifically designed to develop the student’s hands-on, practical job skills, typically by way of shorter highly-focused skills training.
