Roll up your sleeves! Each day begins with a quick improvised challenge where students are given unusual ingredients or bizarre tasks in which they must create an edible and delicious morning baked good.
In the afternoon they will be faced with a technical challenge based on a previous learned technique. We'll decipher baking terms, find out why cakes fall, chocolate seizes, bread is tough, custard curdles or why your Aunt Dolly's pie crust is like cardboard!
We have options for elementary school and beyond. From days off school and after school series, to summer camps, we got you!
Choose from a wide variety of our most popular lesson plans, or, if you are interested in learning a dish, cuisine or technique not listed here, just ask. We’ll see what we can do!
LCSH, is able to provide unique and rewarding experiences, with kitchens at all of our locations. Our children work on their fine motor skills as they learn to measure, pour, blend, add and mix.
We’ll learn how to roll and shape everything into classic beef enchiladas with cheese and ranchero sauce to enjoy hot from the oven. While we wait for the enchiladas to bake we will make fresh brown rice horchata to sip on.
Does your child love to cook? Our afterschool program is designed to create food literacy through hands-on cooking classes that teach food origins, seasonal recipes, cooking techniques and kitchen safety while having hands-on fun!
