Darin Gagner, owner of Valley Sharp Knife Sharpening has spent decades keeping his own blades razor sharp, so join him in class to learn how to best keep your own knives ready for action. Darin will guide you through sharpening, maintenance, using whetstones, honing your blades, deburring, apexing, and more.
You can bring your own knife to class or practice with ours and take your new skills home. Either way, you’ll learn why a sharp knife is truly a cook’s best friend.

Through our specialized knife skills curriculum tailored for those with a yellow patch and higher, our certified teachers will guide you through a series of 45-minute classes, helping you during your journey to becoming an expert.
Knife Skills Workshop is offered by Walnut Hill College for all ages and skill levels. Participants typically work in teams to execute recipes; however, individual skills will be taught.
