This cooking class will teach you traditional Greek dishes with a modern twist. Saganaki with caramelised honey figs, grilled octopus with tatziki dressing, smoked tahini eggplant, flat bread, slow cooked lamb shoulder with thyme and lemon, skordalia, fragrant pilaf, braised green beans with tomato and cumin and finish with sweet and lovely baklava.

The cooking school runs Sundays an Mondays and offers hands-on cooking classes in a variety of popular cuisines.
General classes are open to the public and we also offer specialised classes and events that can be tailored to suit private or corporate groups and special occasion classes. Our classes aim to be informative, educational and fun at the same time.
The Golden Pig is located in a spacious, light filled, warehouse in inner city Newstead. The flexible floor plan includes an open kitchen, front and back dining areas and a small rear courtyard and garden.
Students will learn traditional and modern Greek recipes from the mainland Greece as well as the Greek Islands. Students will make 3-course meal each week, and the food will be taken home at the conclusion of the class.
Victor travelled to the Greek Islands for years leading food tours and returned with fabulous recipes and stories. You will learn about olives and olive oil and make and eat wonderful purees of aubergine and fava, octopus simmered in red wine, and prawns saganaki, just to name a few.
You will learn how to prepare traditional authentic dishes that you won’t commonly find in a Greek restaurant. Instead, it is food that you would expect to eat in the kitchen of a Greek family home.
