Classical Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles and is vital to the serious dancer's training, as it develops discipline and dedication, improves balance, flexibility and agility Ballet training transitions to all genres of dance.
Defined by its athletic character, Acrobatic Arts' unique choreography seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics in a dance context. It is a challenging dance style, requiring the dancer to be in excellent physical condition and trained in both dance and acrobatic skills.Â
An earthy dance style, Contemporary Dance combines techniques from several dance genres, including Modern, Jazz, Lyrical and Classical Ballet and naturalistic movement. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and body through fluid dance movement.
Hip Hop is a street dance style, primarily performed to Hip Hop music,  which has evolved from the Hip Hop culture. It is a commercial dance style, often a seen in music clips and movies, that is fun and energetic, requiring breaking, locking and popping!Â
Irish dance, both soft and hard shoe, is a group of traditional dance forms originating from Ireland, encompassing dancing both solo and in groups. Popularised by shows such as Lord of the Dance and Riverdance, Irish dancing is dynamic, energetic and fun for all ages.Â
Energetic and fun and with renewed popularity in recent years, Modern/Jazz is a continually evolving dance genre encompassing styles of Broadway, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Funk and Lyrical dance With the use of appropriate music, it consists of unique moves, big leaps and quick turns.Â
In a fun, relaxed atmosphere, students will gain a basic understanding of the elements utilised in Musical Theatre performances.
Emphasising the development and strengthening importance of rhythm and sound, Tap is encouraged for students who do not learn a musical instrument With intricate footwork, requiring dexterity and concentration, the dancer's rhythmic patterns creates percussive sounds.Â
