If you have never sailed before or are looking to improve your sailing skills, these courses will help you develop your abilities and confidence.

Enjoy a fun and relaxing 3-hour (or longer) experience on the water with your Sail Canada instructor as your skipper.

Youth take the helm, learn to chart a course, haul lines, climb aloft to furl sails, and complete activities around the galley and ship maintenance. 

This is the first course to take when learning to sail a keelboat as an adult.

Before you leave our classroom, you will know whether or not you passed the exam and if you did, you’ll immediately receive a temporary licence.

Brigs offers voyages for adults 18+ who want to learn to sail a tall ship. 

CANSail introduces new sailors to the fundamental sailing skills in the Optimist/420 dinghy.

These lessons will prepare you to be able to sail safely as the crew of a sloop-rigged keelboat 6 to 12 meters with an outboard or inboard motor in 5 – 20 knots (not gusting over 25 knots) of wind by day.

At the Fanshawe Yacht Club Sailing School, we offer our youth program as a day school through the summer months.

Sailors will meet the instructors at Lakeside Beach in an area near the water behind the park washrooms.
