What is safeguarding, who is at risk, legislation, recognising abuse, types of abuse (inc. domestic violence and coercive behaviour), specific acts (honour based violence, forced marriage, FGM, modern day slavery), the role of the alerter, reporting and recording, dealing with disclosures.

Half day course covering: Understanding self harm, principles of Wound management (TIME), assessing a wound, types of wound, cleaning and dressing a wound, use of steri-strips, ligatures and fixed point ligatures, minimising risk and distress in treatment, ensuring dignity and respect, how to raise

Half day course covering: What is an ABI, types of ABIs, about the brain, traumatic brain injury, effects of brain injury, sequelae of brain injury, effects on people and their families, the Mental Capacity Act overview, supporting people with ABI, dealing with grief and loss.

We offer courses of varying lengths to train senior staff members how to train internally to a staff team. We usually deliver a session on ‘how to train’ and then other sessions depending on which subjects you wish staff members to train internally. Contact us for more specific information.
