Western Canada Fire & First Aid’s Standard First Aid course follows the new CSA standards and the “Alberta Plus” standards. This instructor-led course is approximately 16-hours in duration and is spread over 2 days of instruction.
This course has been replaced with a broader and more in-depth course that includes Ammonia Awareness. The NEW program is called Detection & Control of Hazardous Materials. This course is a theory only course and is available in both an instructor-monitored format and online format.

The Detection Control Hazardous Materials course is designed to provide the student with background knowledge regarding the detection and control of hazardous materials. Students will receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years.
The course is intended to help an employer develop their own specific confined space entry program and allows workers to understand their responsibilities with regards to confined and restricted space work.
This course is designed to provide the student with the basic skills necessary to use the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (S.C.B.A.). Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years.
Cranemasters Overhead Crane course is a self-guided program that trains the students on basic overhead crane operation, inspection and evaluation. The course comprises of four chapters, each chapter followed by a short exam.
This course is designed to improve the awareness of the hazards of working in an H2S environment. Students who required Energy Safety Canada (ESC) certification can take the 8 hour H2S Alive course.
