CSUDH OSHA Training Institute Education Center offers a total of 22 courses.
This course is designed for individuals interested in teaching the 10- and 30-hour construction safety and health Outreach Training Program. Using OSHA Construction Standards as a guide, this course places special emphasis on topics which are most hazardous.
This course is designed to develop the skills needed to train forklift operators in compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA standards. Classification, safe operation, and OSHA trainer regulations will be emphasized. This course will incorporate the use of Adult Learning Techniques.
This course covers the relationship between OSHA and risk management. Compliance recognition, safety awareness and the impact of risk management on organizations is emphasized. Course topics include basic elements of RMP, Worker’s Compensation losses and risk management process.
This course provides trainers with instruction in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) as it relates to chemical and physical exposures. This course satisfies the requirements for training under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and CFR 1926.
This course covers the requirements for safe construction and use of scaffolding using OSHA’s construction scaffold standards as a guide. Course topics include hazards associated with scaffold design, assembly, disassembly and use, types of scaffolds, determining scaffold capacity.
This course covers OSHA Electrical Standards and the hazards associated with electrical installations and equipment. Course topics include single- and three-phase systems, cord and plug-connected fixed equipment, grounding, ground fault circuit interrupters, and safety-related work practices.
This course covers OSHA Standards, Policies, and Procedures in general industry. Topics include scope and application of the OSHA Standards, general industry safety and health principles, and special emphasis is placed on the most hazardous conditions.
This course covers the requirements for operation of cranes in the construction industry. Using OSHA’s Cranes and Derricks Standard as a guide, this course covers hazards associated with crane assembly and disassembly, maintenance and inspection requirements, and employee qualifications.
This course covers the various types of common machinery, machine safe guards, and related OSHA regulations and procedures. Course topics include machinery processes, mechanical motions, points of operation, and common OSHA machine guarding violations.
This course covers the safety and health hazards associated with permit-required confined space entry. Course topics include recognition of confined space hazards, identification of permit and non-permit required confined spaces, proper signage, and training requirements.
