Standard Chinese, also known as Mandarin and Putonghua, is a standardized variety of Chinese. It is the sole official language of both the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of China; it is also one of the four official languages of Singapore.

Hindi belongs to the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European family of languages. Hindi is a direct descendant of Sanskrit through Prakrit and Apabhramsha.

The Korean language is spoken by more than 75 million people, of whom 48 million live in South Korea and 24 million in North Korea. There are more than 2 million speakers in China, approximately 1 million in the United States, and about 500,000 in Japan.
