The Intensive Elementary Arabic is an eight-week course intended to teach skills in oral comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing Arabic.
In the course of learning French, students are taught how to reflect on the meaning of linguistic and cultural similarities and differences, and they acquire new insights into the complexities of human communication and human culture.
This introduction to the German language focuses on the development of basic communicative competencies (spoken and written) while sensitizing students to the links between language and culture.
The Greek Workshop, a tradition at UC Berkeley for over thirty years, is suited to the needs of students with no previous knowledge of Ancient Greek but with some experience of other foreign languages.
Reading and Composition examines the many forms of supernatural belief traditions that people express through traditional genres and popular media in Italy.
At the end of the course students should be able to express regret, positive and negative requirements, chronological order of events, conditions, giving and receiving of objects and favors, and to ask and give advice.
This course is designed for students who have little or no prior knowledge of the Korean language. Students will learn the Korean alphabet and basic grammar.
The Latin Workshop is a complete, 10-week intensive Latin course for students with no prior Latin experience.
