This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate excavator operations to lift carry and place materials. This unit applies to those working in site based roles.

Forklift truck means a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachments that can be raised 900 mm or more above the ground, but does not include a pedestrian-operated truck.

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. 

This unit requires the applicant to be able plan the work, select and inspect equipment, set up task, erect structures and plant and dismantle structures and plant. This unit is based upon the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work.

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely perform basic scaffolding work. Scaffolding work involves erecting, altering or dismantling a temporary structure to support a platform from which a person or object could fall more than four meters.

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a vehicle loading crane with a Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) of 10 metre tonnes or more.  Vehicle loading crane means a crane mounted on a vehicle for loading and unloading the vehicle.

This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain breathing apparatus and equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere, as defined by the Australian Standard AS/NZS 1715:2009 Selection, use and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment.
