This hot works course provides learners with an understanding of the hazards involved in hot works, and practical guidelines to maintain safety and avoid risks, injuries and accidents.

A Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedure is a safety system used to prevent accidental or unauthorized access to electrical power sources that are undergoing maintenance or other work.

After completion of this course the candidate will be able to safely and efficiently use breathing apparatus equipment to escape potentially harmful gas.

This unit standard is for people who have to ensure that workers, the public and all relevant people are safe when work has to be done on or next to a road in an urban area.

The person attending this course can identify and assess the risk of a potential spill, confine a spill should it happen and evaluate the incident to ensure a correct, safe clean up. They are also able to complete the required documentation in accordance with organizational procedures.
