This safety course introduces delegates to the theoretical dangers of excavation work. Examples of areas covered are, but not limited to, the HSE’s HSG150 and HSG 47 guidance documents, as well as the Construction Industry Research reports.
To provide delegates with the necessary knowledge of the responsibilities of being a First Aider. Delegates will have a basic knowledge of how to correctly react and treat the various first aid situations that may occur in their place of work.
The aim of the NEBOSH Construction course is to ensure that safety requirements are appreciated by people employed as line managers; to enable them to review their own departmental systems for safety, introducing new controls or implementing changes as appropriate to make their workplace safer.
The aim of the training course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and tools to deal with the health and safety issues associated with their areas of responsibility, enabling them to review their safety systems and introduce new controls.
To enable the delegates to be reasonably aware of the various types of scaffold, their uses and construction, faults most commonly encountered, and safe methods, within the job role, to deal with them.
To provide delegates with the knowledge and hands on experience which will enable compliance with relevant legal obligations associated with the work activities necessitating the use of this equipment.
To provide delegates with a thorough understanding of how to minimise the risk of injury to themselves and others by increasing awareness of potential manual handling hazards in the workplace and their outcomes.
To provide delegates with a thorough understanding of the hazards associated with the use of abrasive wheels and to comply with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), in the safe mounting of abrasive wheels and discs on portable machinery.
To provide delegates with an understanding of the requirements under the COSHH Regulations, recognise the implications & requirements of COSHH and apply them in the workplace. To enable delegates to carry out simple risk assessments & recognise when specialist support is required.
To provide delegates with a thorough understanding of how to test equipment to the requirements of the IEE code of practice. The course takes a hands on approach to learning including practical exercises.
