Health and Safety appointed representatives are faced with a constant battle against ever changing Health and Safety legislation and the impact on their respective organisations.

An NVQ is a National Vocational Qualification, which will allow an individual the opportunity to gain new skills and develop professionally whilst gaining full recognition for their previous experience.

The Asbestos Awareness Course is targeted at all those likely to be involved with asbestos – either in a property management sense or for those trades likely to work directly or indirectly with materials that could be asbestos.

This course will cover the updates and will go through the requirements necessary for an operative to be classed as competent to mount, use and change abrasive wheels.

To give delegates an understanding of the main hazards and risks associated with chemicals, chemical categories, sources of information and control strategies. The course will also cover current legislation relating to chemical and biological safety and look at how to carry out a risk assessment.

To give delegates an understanding of the main dangers associated with the construction industry, categories of employees who may be at risk and legislation relating to construction work. The course will also cover control strategies, risk assessments and the production of method statements.

To introduce delegates to the main risks from fire, the fire triangle, types of fire and methods of fire fighting. The course will also cover fire risk assessments which all employers must carry out under current legislation.

To make delegates aware of the risks associated with noise, how noise can affect them, transmission paths for noise and methods of control.
