You'll learn to transmit and receive information using the Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS) subsystems and equipment, fulfil the functional requirements of the GMDSS and provide radio services in emergencies.

With this certificate, you can work as a navigational watchkeeper at the operational level and perform the functions and duties of a radio operator on board a GMDSS ship, and operate its specialised GMDSS equipment.

The IYT Try Sailing Course is a 5 hour course aimed to provide candidates with basic introductory knowledge for crewing a vessel (monohull or catamaran) up to 15 meters in inland or coastal waters <5 miles offshore during daylight hours in moderate wind and sea conditions.
