This course will provide you with the basic skills, knowledge and information to safely operate a 180 Excavator Backhoe & Bucket (JCB).

This safety course introduces delegates to the theoretical dangers of excavation work. Examples of areas covered are, but not limited to, the HSE’s HSG150 and HSG 47 guidance documents, as well as the Construction Industry Research reports.

Protection against specific hazards, Regulation 12 of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 states: ‘Every employer shall take measures to ensure that the exposure of a person, using work equipment, to any risk is either prevented or adequately controlled.’

This NPORS training course enables all personnel required to operate a 360 degree excavator to do so legally and safely. The courses last between 1 and 10 days depending on the experience of the candidates, and we also offer a single day refresher training course.

This course provides delegates with an introduction to the basics of working around excavations. Designed as an awareness course, particular emphasis is provided to key aspects of managing and/or overseeing excavation work.
