Health and Safety Training UK are proud to provide asbestos awareness training courses for individual candidates and businesses around Newcastle, Teesside and the North East. Training is provided in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR).

This NPORS training course enables all personnel required to operate a 360 degree excavator to do so legally and safely. The courses last between 1 and 10 days depending on the experience of the candidates, and we also offer a single day refresher training course.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to carry out a pre-shift inspection and operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions and accepted good practice.

Health & Safety Training’s Abrasive Wheels training course is designed to teach candidates the safe mounting and selection of abrasive wheels and cutting discs for use in multiple applications.

A swing lift (or swing jib) is a swinging crane that features a static post for support, and swinging arm. They are used primarily for lifting heavy items, such as dense machinery, and moving them short or medium distances.

The course itself covers a range of subjects to give candidates an awareness of the role health and safety plays in their job. It can be used as preparation for the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test, too.

Industries that employ cranes or large diggers and dumpers or that have a number of vehicles, such as heavy goods vehicles entering their site regularly, usually require a Vehicle Banksman to control the movements from the point of loading and unloading.

The fire safety training course is an accessible one day course aimed at anyone who may need to raise the alarm upon identifying a fire, or who may need to use a fire extinguisher to ensure people and property are adequately protected.

By the end of the course the successful candidates will be able to carry out a safe pre-shift inspection and be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with the manufacturers’ instructions and accepted good practice.

On successful completion of the course, the candidates will be presented with an NPORS Trained Operators Card and certificate, evidencing their abilities. They will be able to establish the weight and dimensions of loads and communicate this information to the crane operator.
