Jazz is a performance dance technique thatincorporates many styles of movement. Students can work towards completing ‘Jazz Moves’ examinations with ATOD.
This is street dance at its best. Classes involve isolations, turns, freezes, tricks, tutting, floor work and performance styles whilst learning choreography to up to date modern songs.
Ballet is a system of dance based on formalized movements and positions of the arms, feet, and body designed to enable the dancer to move with the greatest possible agility, control and grace. Students can work towards completing examinations with ATOD.
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including jazz and classical ballet. Originally, "contemporary dance" referred to the movement of new dancers who did not want to follow strict classical ballet and lyrical dance forms.
Using metal plates on the soles of shoes, tap dance creates rhythmical sounds and teaches timing, musicality and creativity.
Incorporates gymnastic movements encouraging strength, flexibility, balance, limbering and tumbling both individually and with partners. We offer a very safe syllabus based on skill progression, where students have the option for sitting exams with Acrobatic Arts.
Combine singing with movement and character development. This is the true 'triple threat' class. Students learn vocal control to allow confident singing whilst dancing. Lessons incorporate current and classic musicals and is a fun way to develop performance skills.
