This course is intended for rescue personnel who are expected to undertake emergency rescues as part of their duties to enter confined spaces.
The aim of this course is to equip you with the knowledge and skills and insight to be able to identify a hazardous material incident. Further, it will teach you how to deal with public safety concerns surrounding a hazardous material scene.
Upon completion of the course, the successful learner will be capable of identifying, containing, preventing and extinguishing different types of fires by operating basic firefighting equipment.
Firefighter 2 is the second level in the firefighter program. It is designed to provide the theory and skills necessary to perform the functions of a firefighter. Firefighter 1 NFPA 1001 is a pre-requisite for this course.
The qualification recognises the competencies of people who have the responsibility of performing management and supervisory functions relating to emergency services in the context of fire and rescue including risk and hazard identification at operational incidents.
The course will enable the first responder to react to emergencies at an advanced first aid level, until the arrival of more professional emergency personnel.
This course provides a broad introduction to HIV/AIDS awareness in the workplace. It introduces knowledge about HIV/AIDS awareness that will enable learners to be informed and caring workers in industry and managers to develop appropriate policies to deal with the pandemic.
On completion of the course, you will understand the need for regular mock evacuation drills, evacuation floor plans, key personnel responsibilities, how to call for emergency interventions, and how to manage an evacuation under different scenarios.
OHS Act for Management safety course has been aligned to registered unit standards. You will be assessed against the outcomes of the unit standards by completing a knowledge assignment that covers the essential embedded knowledge stipulated in the unit standards.
