The purpose of this Qualification is to provide learners, education and training providers and employers with the standards and the range of learning required to work effectively in the welding industry and to meet the challenges of such an environment.

The Centre of Specialisation project uses the QCTO occupational qualification as the curriculum for implementation of the new apprentices’ program, such as the Boilermaker course. All apprentices are registered on the new QCTO curriculum and will complete a trade test at the end of the program.

Students who attend the simulated training are expected to wear the required safety attire (Helmet, Safety Shoes and an overall) at all times.
