COURSES OFFERED BY NSW SCHOOL OF LANGUAGES

The Year 9 and Year 10 courses are structured to meet the needs of every student in a blended learning environment. Each student will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of diverse activities and interactive tasks.

At NSW School of Languages, Years 9 and 10 students are offered the opportunity to undertake the Standard or Background course based on their background. Our dynamic and exciting Chinese courses offer highly engaging learning experiences with effective and innovative activities.

Students work through a purpose written booklet of exercises and explanations of listening techniques and analysis, accompanied by practice listening tasks.

The course contains a variety of interactive learning activities which cater for all levels of knowledge. There are worksheets and online tasks which students need to submit weekly for marking. Regular weekly speaking lessons are also an integral part of the course.

Stage 5 (Year 9 and 10) students work through an updated course developed specifically for Distance Education. The 200-hour course is complemented via blended learning: a significant number of interactive e-learning tasks which enable students to consolidate their learning.

In keeping with latest methodologies in modern teaching practices, the Year 9 and 10 courses have been developed to assist students achieve the Syllabus aims and course Outcomes using innovative programs delivered in the e-learning class.

This course is designed for students who wish to study Japanese in Years 9 and 10 as an elective subject. Students with no knowledge, some prior knowledge or background knowledge of Japanese are eligible to study this course. The course is delivered online through Canvas and contains.

At NSW School of Languages, Years 9 and 10 students are offered the opportunity to undertake the Standard or Background course depending on students’ prior learning and/or experience. Our dynamic and exciting Korean courses offer highly engaging learning experiences with effective and innovative.

The Stage 5 Year 9 and 10 courses in Latin are based on the Oxford Latin Course, a course particularly suited for Distance Education. Students study 32 modules of work for Year 9 and 32 modules of work in Year 10 to be completed on a weekly basis.
