This course teaches the types, classifications, potential effects and management controls of hazardous substances in the workplace. It is ideal for workers who hold some responsibility for the use of hazardous substances in the workplace, including line managers.
A confined space is any area that is not intended for human occupancy, has limited access or has the potential to contain a toxic or oxygen deficient atmosphere. Training is necessary for supervisors, stand-by-people, workers entering confined spaces and rescue personnel.
Axiom Training is an accredited mobile testing centre for the ConstructSafe system, which is owned by the Construction Safety Council. ConstructSafe aims to provide industry with assurance that individuals have the knowledge and ability to keep themselves and others safe.
Operating a Crawler Crane is a specialised skill. On course completion trainees will be able to apply theory and skills in lifting and placing loads with an overhead crawler crane and analyse and evaluate processes, through practical experience.
This course is designed for people working on sites where cranes in use and there is a requirement to communicate with crane operators at a more advanced level, such as with complex loads.
The Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) Code of Practice requires that employees are either sufficiently experienced to do their work safely or are supervised by an experienced person.
This course teaches the duties of a Fire and Emergency Warden and the evacuation requirements for a workplace or site. It can be completed in conjunction with the Fire Extinguisher training for a full day fire safety training course.
This course is designed for anyone who wants to learn basic first aid. It is also the minimum qualification requirement for a workplace first aider. It assists with workplaces meeting health and safety standards and is compliant with WorkSafe NZ requirements.
A trained forklift operator is the key to ensuring the most effective and safe use of forklifts in the workplace. Having a trained and certified forklift operator requires a Forklift Operators Certificate as a minimum and if driving on a road, an F endorsement on their licence.
