A civil engineer is responsible for planning, design, maintenance, monitoring, evaluation and management of construction projects. These projects are concerned with the construction of multi-storey building, roads, bridges, airports, harbour, sport stadia and water and sewerage purification plants.
An electrical engineer tests and maintains electrical sub-systems and systems, is involved in analysis and problem formulation, conducts research to improve the use of energy resources, designs and develops new components as well as managing projects.
A mechanical engineering is involved in the design, development, production, analysis, manufacturing, installation, maintenance and general research of mechanical systems and equipment in almost every type of industry.
Public managers occupy positions of leadership at central, provincial and local levels of government as well as related parastatal/institutions.
The aim of the course is to provide excellent theorical as well as practical chemical engineering knowledge and skills, relevant to needs of the chemical industry and society at large, graduates of this programme will have the competences to apply engineering skills to chemical engineering problems
Financial management acompasses planning, organizing, directing and controlling of financial activities such as procurement and utilization of funds of the enterprises.
Marketing is the organisation discipline which focuses on the practical application of marketing orientation, techniques and methods inside enterprises and organisations and on the management of a firm’s marketing resources and activities.
The public relations role will be to foster a good relationship with the organization and public. You may be asked to create a corporate and marketing communications, drafting speeches, and handling product launches (to mention just a few).
Business management involves activities associated with running a company, such as controlling, leading, monitoring, organizing and planning. Managers decide how goals can best be achieved and take decisions regarding the resources needed.
A human resources manager/personnel manager works together with top management officials to plan personnel policies that will meet the needs of employers and employees. The human resources manager co-ordinates transfers, promotions, dismissals, salary adjustments and reinstatements.
