Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with current forms of popular dance. Jazz has its own vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with musical rhythm.

Tap is characterised by using the sounds of metal taps fixed to the shoe striking the floor as a form of percussion coupled with both characteristic and interpretative body movements

Contemporary is a style of dance that combines elements of ballet, modern, lyrical and jazz. It stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the strict nature of classical ballet.

Musical theatre is less of a style and more of a description of dancing that is rooted in the diverse history of broadway musicals.

Acrodance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements.
