COURSES OFFERED BY DARCY'S SCHOOL OF DANCE

This program is for our youngest dancers! The 30 minute class offers the beginning of a ballet foundation. Students should feel confident to come into the comfort of the studio on their own.

This introduction to dance is developed for students 4-5 yrs old. All classes we 45 minutes with a combination of ballet and tap. Young dancers will continue to build a dance foundation learning basic steps and terminology in a creative, fun and encouraging atmosphere!

This program is developed for students 6-7 yrs old. Dancers have the option of ballet, tap or jazz/hip hop or any combination of these styles. Each class is 30 minutes. It is great way to introduce young dancers to different styles of dance while building a strong foundation!

Ballet is a classical art form that is graceful and highly technical. It is the foundation for almost al} other dance styles. Students will train in the Cecchetti method following a graded syllabus. Pointe class is an extension of our classical ballet program. Ballet dancers will support all of their body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes. Pointe classes are available for students who have completed Cecchetti II, enrolled in ballet and are at least 13 yrs old.

This class embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics and modern dance with the music and lyrics inspiring the movements of the dancer and choreography. Dancers will focus on jumps, turns and many other technical skills while also learning the art of dance improvisation!

All of our classes will include warm-up exercises, progressions across the floor and dance combinations.

At the end of the program, students will perform for family and friends in a variety show, including songs and scenes from popular musicals.
