The Basic Fire Suppression curriculum is designed to provide clear guidance that ensures the adequate presentation of the information required to meet the Job Performance Requirements (JPRs) of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) , Standard for Fire Firefighter Professional Qualification.

Awareness Level Personnel are those who, in the course of their normal duties, may encounter an emergency incident involving hazardous materials/weapons of mass destruction (WMD).
