U3A Adelaide offers a total of 6 courses.
This group discusses various topics of daily life in France or elsewhere, and the course requires a level of everyday conversation in French. Each week a different member of the group presents the topic of their choice and asks questions about it. The result is lively, interesting.
An ongoing course in Chinese language and culture for students with some background in the subject. Some use is made of a textbook and workbooks. A print or electronic dictionary is necessary. The class does not observe school holidays.
This course is for students who have studied German for at least three years. We are going to expand our vocabulary, revise and improve our grammar skills and learn more about German history, current affairs and literature. The class breaks for school holidays. Students who have a good command.
Language learning for this class will be divided into the four core skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Grammar will be revised and books and material provided. Class breaks for school holidays. This class will include language skills with occasional reference to revision of basics.
This course is aimed at those with a good grasp of the basics - noun declensions and verb conjugations, who wish to progress towards the Latin Workshop group with its collaborative style of learning. Texts used: Intermediate Latin Grammar, by Giles & Pfitzner (available as a PDF), Cambridge Latin.
Improve your knowledge of the Spanish language. As a tutor - 'I make it easy'. The final objective is that participants should be able to express their ideas fluently in their own manner. It is never enough simply to 'know' something; you must be able to 'do' things with what you know.
