When you take a class, attend an event, or join a monthly club, you become a member of the McDougal Sewing Center family.  Adding to your knowledge is certainly part of the adventure, but meeting up with fellow creative explorers makes the learning fun.

It’s never too late to learn to sew! Our adult classes are tailored to beginners. Don’t be embarrassed if you cannot use a sewing machine, sew a button, or thread a needle. Come learn this lost art and the skills needed to last a lifetime.

Simple Thimbles’ afterschool program consists of 4 separate levels. The students start with Level 1 and move their way up. Each level runs for 6 weeks with a one 1hr 15min class per week.

Another Sit & Sew with Ramona Williams! You will ease into comfort of piecing curves. Come by and pick out fabrics and your kit will be ready for class time! A quick and easy pieced border made from your scraps is the plus.

In each 2-hour class, we will learn and practice 3-4 free motion quilting designs, gradually building the skills and confidence from beginner to advanced level.

Picture Smocking course is offered by Buttons and Bow.

Learn essential skills, from hand and machine sewing techniques to fabric selection and pattern reading. Unleash your creativity and embark on a lifelong journey of crafting personalized garments and home decor.

This class will cover so much in a short time about the sewing machine. We’ll wind the bobbin and install it, thread the machine, adjust stitch length and width, backstitch, use some of the different stitches, review the accessories included in package and make an embroidered pincushion.

This class is for intermediate adult sewists. Here you can choose a pattern and work through it with my guidance, and lots of encouragement from fellow classmates on their own sewing journeys.

A machine will be provided for you! Learning to use a sewing machine will be essential to your home sewing experience. You will have the option to buy a sewing machine at the end of the first class.
